MEET THE SIGNATURE TEAM

BERT BUTTERFIELD:

Bert Butterfield, the founder and owner of Signature Builders, Inc. has spent most of his life in Southeastern Wisconsin, and loves the rolling hills and four seasons of the area. He built his expertise, focus on details and building precision in the demanding world of managing commercial building projects. And his passion for great home design, building relationships and having fun is part of his creative, outgoing personality. By combining these skills and talents, Bert is proud to realize his vision of creating a custom home building business that uniquely delivers on both the process and the results. In over twelve years of leading Signature Builders, Inc., is very pleased to say that he has built many outstanding custom homes and that he has built trust and friendships with some great people.

Bert understands the needs of growing families, as he is married and the father of two of middle and high school ages. He is very active in his church, community and the kid’s schools. Bert has coached youth sports in the area for several years, and is the force behind the Signature Builders, Inc. youth team sponsorships and donations to fundraisers for his family’s church and Children’s Hospital. And, in the interest of full disclosure to any Viking or Bears fans, he is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, and predicts a full run to get the Super Bowl this year.

GINGER LEE:

Ginger Lee has worked with Bert at Signature Builders, Inc. for four years as his Administrative Assistant. Ginger is the expert behind keeping track of payments, bills, receipts and other details that keep the “back-office” humming. She has years of experience in accounting, office management and even in-the-field project installations. Her experience with Signature makes Ginger a good source of information on the building process as well as some of the building products. She is a lifelong resident of Wisconsin and has a passion for “going fast” with things like jet ski’s and fast cars. Although her Signature dream home is yet to be built, you can bet her idea folder is getting thicker all of the time.

LYLE LISKA
ARCHITECTURE

Mr. Lyle Liska, A.I.B.D., C.P.B.D, is an award-winning talented architect, with over thirty years of experience in residential design in southeastern Wisconsin. He founded his business, Liska Associates in 1998 and has been part of the Signature team for four years. Lyle’s passion is to design houses that stand out from the crowd of “generic suburban architecture”. His custom designs are pure in style, and the tiniest detail is part of the plan to get it right. With the eye of an artist, he refines each idea to deliver the desired “look” through the simplified gestures of clean lines and great composition. He strives for viewers of a Liska-designed house to immediately “get it” and to reinforce that feeling of style and continuity both inside and outside the house.

Along with his residential architecture practice, Lyle contributes his expertise as a member of the Architectural Advisory Committee at Waukesha County Technical College, and over the last ten years has developed and taught courses on architectural design, architectural drafting and structural engineering. He holds a degree in architecture from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and is a member and Certified Professional Building Designer of the American Institute of Building Design, a nationally recognized organization of residential designers. He has won several awards and writes articles for local and national publications.

CAROLYN TAYLOR
INTERIOR DESIGN

Carolyn Taylor founded Heritage Carpet & Interiors, Ltd. in 1982, after being inspired through study of interior design at Mount Mary College. Her artistic flair is evident in all of her design projects, and has resulted in recognition within the industry, including four first-place awards in the Metropolitan Builders Associations’ Parade of Homes. Carolyn’s philosophy of design revolves completely around the personality of the client. She has a “sixth-sense” ability to figure out very quickly what style will appeal to the client and also what colors, textures, patterns and products will compliment the architecture of their home. She works with home-building clients starting early in the process, helping them select the perfect exterior colors and fixtures, then moving on to providing guidance on choosing interior fixtures, flooring, cabinetry hardware, countertops and other products. Often times, she will conduct research and coordinate details with other product suppliers to make sure the client gets the “look” they want. And of course, Carolyn’s great sense of color, design layout and patterns, helps clients finish the home with the right wall coverings, window treatments, paint, bedding and upholstery.

Heritage Carpet & Interiors, Ltd. offers an extensive selection of the finest in residential and commercial carpeting, vinyl and hardwood flooring, ceramic tile and area rugs. Their wallcoverings library of over 2,500 books is one of the most complete in the Midwest, with brands in every style, color and price range. They design, cut and sew custom window treatments with examples in the store to generate ideas. Heritage takes pride in its talented design staff and its expert product craftsmen. Service and delivery is always prompt and professional. The expanded showroom in Hartland, WI is a complete design center for anyone building or remodeling a home.
